Explaining human behavior to a 2 year old

So today I had to have an interesting conversation with my 2 year old about the way that humans greet each other. Let me tell you a little background info before I go into the story. My mother has 3 dogs and they are all very friendley. Emily always says that they are her best friends and watches what they do very carefully. So... today she saw one of the dogs go up to the other dog and sniff its butt. She asked "Grandma, why did Cody sniff Annies butt, is it stinky?" My mother then had to explain that that is what dogs do to greet each other. My 2 year old then cocked her head and looked at my mom and thought about it for a moment. She then preceded to go behind my mom and sniff her butt and said "Don't worry grandma, i just saying hi."

OMG- when my mom told me that I just about peed my pants laughing so hard. When I can to pick Emily up she tried to do it to me and I had to explain to her that people don't do that, only dogs do that. I did have to explain further that it was not ok for people to do that you dogs either. I just wanted to cover my bases just in case she though that was how she was supposed to greet the dogs.

Life with a 2 year old is great, and there is not a day that something hilarious doesn't happen. I love it.

Burrrrrr..it's cold in here

So it is like low 60's here and I am freezing. I know, I know, lower 60's is not cold to most people, but for a gal that has thin blood like me it is butt ass cold!!!

Today was an OK day. It was a normal day at the college. Nothing exciting. Emily called me stupid today. Do you know what it feels like to me belittled by a 2 year old. Not good, but when I told her that it is not nice to call people stupid she started crying. Not just crying, but sobbing. It make me laugh. She is such a drama queen. I wonder where she gets it from??? DAD, right...

I am not a very good diary writing person, never have been. I started this because I would like Emily to be able to read this and see what she was doing when she was younger. I hope that she likes it.
